Disturbing footage shows a CEO of an LA-based environmental consulting firm beating his puppy at his condo.

A security camera captured Jeffrey Previte, 46, yanking his defenseless four-month-old dog off the ground by its neck and then slapping him.

The shocking incident took place at the Seychelle Condominiums building in Santa Monica, California.

The footage begins with Previte finding something on the ground near the dog. He then angrily grabs the dog by the right side of his head with his left fist.

He then begins slapping the puppy while shaking him around.

As he opens the door, he yanks the pooch some more as the door closes behind him.

A moment later, Previte then emerged behind the door carrying the poor puppy with his right hand clenched around his throat as the dog cries.

He then repositions his hand to carry the dog by the collar and slapping the dog before putting him down. He then carry the pooch off-camera.

A concierge, who has asked to remain anonymous, heard the dog’s cries from the building’s front desk and filed a report.

The concierge said:

“I heard the dog screaming, and when I looked on the camera, I saw him beating the dog.”

“He became irate… and then he hung up on me. He apologized the next day, but I didn’t think it was a sincere apology.”

Previte, however, claimed that he did nothing wrong.

In a statement to Daily Mail, he did deny that he was rough with the dog. Instead, he claimed that the concierge was extorting him.

He said:

“There’s nothing illegal about what I did.”

“The building manager took it very seriously. I find it very unfortunate that we are even talking about this.”

Despite Previte’s comments, the company that he works for, EBI Consulting, has already pulled his profile from its leadership page.

The Santa Monica Police Department also took swift action after the incident, stating that the case is under investigation.

Through a tweet, the police also noted the Animal Services Unit is also investigating the incident for a possible violation of penal code 597(a).

Penal Code 597(a) is an animal abuse law citing anyone who ‘intentionally means, tortures, manipulates or hurts any living animal.’

Previte later apologized, saying:

“I want everyone to know that I truly regret my actions. Words can’t fully describe how sorry I am for what happened.”

“I lost my temper and took unreasonable and unjustifiable action in attempting to discipline my dog Bici.”

“As I have said, words are not enough here. Bici is no longer living with me and is with another loving family.”

“I have also stepped away from my job and am enrolling in anger management training.”

Despite apologizing and surrendering the puppy, Previte could still face charges on animal cruelty.
