Throughout the years, there have been a variety of different impressive customizations for the classic Volkswagen Beetle. We think we might have just found the best of all of them!

One of the most inspiring projects of all time is the converted Volkswagen Beetle mini bike, created by Brent Walter.

And Walter has dubbed his creation the 'Volkspod,' which is a small motorbike made out of fenders, taken from a classic Beetle car.

For each Beetle minibike, Walter used four vintage fenders that were fused together to make the body of the vehicle.

Powered by a 79cc engine, the motorbike handles very similar to a bicycle, except that it has a running motor inside.

Below are some mind-blowing images that show the bike in all its glory through each construction process stage.

Though the vehicle looks too tiny for someone to fit on, the design is surprisingly comfortable and stable for its size.

Walter says:

"The original (green) has a 79cc motor and is more for looks than it is practical."

"The second (blue) one has more ground clearance and a 212cc motor. It is more practical to ride around on the road."

Although VW Beetle conversions are somewhat common, this design just happens to be one of the most unique and bizarre we've ever seen.

Typically, it's pretty difficult to spot a converted VW because the manufacturers often focus generally more on functionality instead of the designs.

For instance, Volkswagen recently announced they'll simplify the process of converting gas cars into electric cars, according to The Verge.

The company has joined forces with German design firm eClassics, which will retrofit the vehicles, while Volkswagen will supply many of the core parts and components.

Early specifications released by the company state the newly converted batteries in the electric cars will come along with a total capacity of 36.8 kWh and could travel for about 200 kilometers or 124 miles on one charge.

The resulting retrofit Beetles will be able to make about 80 horsepower and go from 0 to 80 kilometers per hour (about 50 miles per hour) in around eight seconds.

And as experts noted, the weight distribution of the modern electric drivetrain will not only improve handling but also free up some storage space.
