Ever heard of a film called Twins? If no, that’s okay, it came out around 30 years ago. But if you want to watch the new version of it, then you’re in luck as Jason Momoa wants to make it happen.
In case you don’t remember the Twinsoriginal movie, here’s a refresher.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito star as fraternal twins. The two were created through a biological experiment, and the shady folks behind it told their mother (Bonnie Bartlett) that the babies died.
Years later, Vincent (DeVito), an unscrupulous street hustler, ekes out a living in Los Angeles. On the other hand, Julius (Schwarzenegger), raised by a scientist (Tony Jay), grew up humble, intelligent and strong, but very naive about the larger world.
So, when Julius learned that he has a brother and mother, he heads to Los Angeles to find them.
What follows is a hilarious tangle of confusion as the two brothers use different tactics to find their mom and to get out of various conflicts. Sound fun?
Well, it looks like one Game Of Thrones star is now looking to revisit the film.
Jason Momoa, who starred as Khal Drogo (a warlord of the Dothraki—fierce warriors, skilled in battle, unrelenting in combat and known for savagery towards non-Dothraki) in Game Of Thrones recently admittedly said he’d love to fill Arnold Schwarzenegger’s shoes with the role of Julius from Twins
The idea was brought up to Momoa at Fan Fest.
According to ComicBook.com, a fan asked if he would do a Twins remake with his Game of Thrones co-star and friend Peter Dinklage. Momoa was thrilled with the idea.
“Tell me where to sign! Absolutely. That’d be amazing. I love that movie.”
It’d definitely be interesting to see the two actors on screen together.
While Khal Drogo and Tyrion Lannister didn’t share any scenes in the hit series, Game Of Thrones, perhaps a lighthearted remake, could ideally bring the two actors together on the big screen.
Fans on Twitter were overwhelmingly excited about the idea.
One enthusiastic Twitterer wrote: “Take my money I’m in!”
Another lobbied for an “original” script for the talented pair, writing:
“This would be a hit. As long as it is an original and not a remake. Dinklage is a great actor, and Momoa would do his job …”
Recently, Schwarzenegger revealed to Deadline that the movie’s script was finished and that Eddie Murphy was still attached to the project.
