Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child together.
The Roar singer sparked pregnancy rumors in the hours leading up to her new music video, Never Wore White. And at midnight, she officially confirmed she's expecting her first child.
Initially, the pop star created speculation by showing a photo of herself cradling what appeared to be a baby bump in the teaser footage for the new music video.
The video reveals she's actually pregnant with an image of her cradling it bare. She even tweeted:
"Let's just say it's gonna be a jam packed summer..."
The 35-year-old discussed her pregnancy at length with fans on Instagram Live after the music video dropped.
Katy shared:
"There's a lot that will be happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for. So let's just call it a double whammy. It's a two-for."
She continued:
"I am excited. We're excited and happy, and it's probably the longest secret I've ever had to keep. And I like to tell you guys everything, but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that's... I guess that's how I speak to you. That's how we speak together to each other."
Last February, the People news outlet reported that Katy and Bloom are interested in starting a family.
The media outlet said at the time that 'Katy is slowing down her career this year. [She and Bloom] want to get married and start a family sooner rather than later.'
Now that Never Worn White is officially out, it's a done deal that kids are in her and fiancé Orlando Bloom's future.
According to a source, Katy already has her mothering skills down as she has an amazing bond with Bloom's 9-year-old son, Flynn, whom he shares with ex Miranda Kerr.
Katy and Bloom first sparked romance back in January 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party. In March the same year, the singer and the Lord Of The Rings star "become an official couple."
While the two split 10 months later, they found their way back to each other and announced their engagement in February 2019.
Katy and Bloom haven't wed yet, but an outlet recently reported that the couple is in the works of fine-tuning their wedding.
In a recent interview with Australia's Stellar magazine, Katy said she wasn't stressing over it as the "marriage is more important than the party."
She said:
"I call myself a 'bridechilla' as opposed to a bridezilla. Orlando and I are united with our approach. It's not about the party. It's about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Because it's really great and then it's really hard. Those are just the facts when you're with someone who challenges you to be your best self."
