‘Killer’ Dad Accused Of Raping His 6-Year-Old Son To Death With A Stick Brian Raleigh A father has been found guilty of raping his six-year-old son to death with a stick for eating a piece of cake. Mauricio Alejandro Torres, 50, is alleged to have violated his son Maurice Isaiah on a camping trip as a punishment for eating a piece of cake without permission. The dad then tried to point the finger of blame on his wife, Cathy, 48, during a video interview with cops. He falsely claimed that his wife sexually assaulted the boy by accident. After being horrifically violated, the youngster reportedly died of septic shock and bacterial infection the following day. According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the jury heard that the little boy’s parents would allegedly beat their son with shoes and cables. Torres pleaded not guilty to capital murder and battery over the death of his son, but Isaiah’s 12-year-old sister testified at the trial. She told the court that she witnessed her parents pulling her brother’s teeth with pliers and forcing him to sleep in a dog cage. The sibling also revealed that his brother was forced to stay in a large trash can for a month while she would often act as a guard so he wouldn’t escape to eat food. The sister added that her parents would feed her home-cooked meals and sometimes take her to restaurants, while his brother was only fed rice and beans. She also confessed to the judges that at one time, their mother would pour bleach over her brother while the father scrubbed the boy’s skin. Dr. Franklin Mayhue, the doctor who treated Isaiah shortly before his death, told the court the parents didn’t show any emotional response to news of their son’s death. The doctor said: “There was an absence of a normal grieving response from parents that lost a child. This was an extreme picture of a child who was not only dead but dead from a bizarre situation.” Jurors were then shown photos of the child’s shocking injuries, which were “all over his body.” After the father violated the child, the mother pushed Isaiah down further onto the stick, worsening his injuries, according to reports. Mauricio is being retried after his November 2016 capital murder conviction was thrown out on a technicality. His wife is set to give evidence for the prosecution in the coming days. At the opening of the retrial, the prosecution set out the horrific details of the case. Benton County Prosecutor, Nathan Smith, told jurors: “This is a story of abuse, torture, and murder of six-year-old Isaiah. He suffered from chronic child abuse syndrome. The pictures you will see are ugly, grotesque.” The father will face life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted of murder charges and from five to 20 years in jail if convicted of battery.
