“Death-defying swimming!” Compass Pools have revealed their plan to construct the ‘world’s scariest pool’ that will sit on top of a 55-story building in London.

Have you ever been in a rooftop of a story building and thought how that place “would be so much better if the entire roof was a pool”?

Leisure enthusiasts looking to swim with a spectacular city view will soon be flocking to Infinity London, which will be the first and only building throughout the world to host a 360-degree rooftop pool.

A UK based pool maker company, Compass Pools, is planning to build a 600,000-liter pool with transparent walls, that’ll sit on a 55-story building.

According to the design, the building will encompass a five-star hotel and the pool as the main attraction.

The proposed Infinity Pool will sit approximately 650 feet above London city’s skyline and have a transparent floor which will allow visitors to see swimmers floating above them, and swimmers to look down the building below.

But many people have one concern. How do I get in and out of the pool?

Alex Kemsley, Compass Pool designer and also a tech adviser, addressed the concern on the company’s website.

Kemsley said:

“We faced some quite major technical challenges to this building, the biggest one being how to actually get into the pool.”

“Normally a simple ladder would suffice, but we didn’t want stairs on the outside of the building or in the pool as it would spoil the view – and obviously you don’t want 600,000 litres of water draining through the building either.”

“The solution is based on the door of a submarine, coupled with a rotating spiral staircase which rises from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out – the absolute cutting edge of swimming pool and building design and a little bit James Bond to boot!”

The company has also revealed that the project will commence as early as the year 2020, “if all the partners and contractors are confirmed.”
