Stomach-churning details of a man who killed and dissolved his parent’s bodies in acid over Thanksgiving weekend have emerged.

Joel Michael Guy Jr. was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, felony murder, and abuse of a corpse after killing his parents, Joel Guy Sr., 61, and Lisa Guy, 55.

In his arraignment, Guy Jr. appealed to the court to give him a death sentence if they find him guilty.

However, it is unlikely the prosecution will pursue the death penalty even though the state has a provision for the same.

In the hearing, the court released sickening images showing the inside of a home where Gury Jr. murdered his parents.

Prosecutors also detailed the horrific scene detectives came across while entering his parents’ home.

According to court documents, Gury Jr. murdered his parents because they planned to stop giving him money.

Prosecutors say he first knifed his father to death in the upstairs exercise room. He then turned the knife to his mother when she returned home from a shopping trip.

The son then dismembered his parents’ bodies and tried to dissolve some of the remains. He also boiled his mother’s head in a pot.

But before carrying out the heinous crime, Guy Jr meticulously plotted his every murderous move in a notebook.

He detailed at great length how he would kill his mother and father. And then how he would dispose of their remains, step-by-step.

‘Truly Graphic and Disturbing’

One of the bullet points in the notebook read:

“Douse killing rooms (kitchen?) with bleach.”

“Flush chunks down toilet, not garbage disposal … don’t have to get rid of the body if no forensic evidence.”

Meanwhile, another page details the ‘assets’ belonging to Lisa Guy, including a $500,000 life insurance policy.

The page read:

“$500,000 would be all mine. With him missing/dead, I get the whole thing.”

Sandy Campbell, of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, also took to the witness stand and talked jurors through a 30-minute video of the disturbing bloodbath crime scene.

The footage showed a blood trail throughout the house with shredded and bloodied clothing strewn across the kitchen area.

The horrific video also showed human remains at the scene.

Later in the video, Campbell encounters two large blue plastic bins with molten human remains floating inside.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jeremy McCord said, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

“(It was) the most horrific thing I’ve ever encountered in police work – in my life.”
