Most women understand that the days before your wedding day will fill you with endless anxiety. You feel excited, incredible, and stressful at the same time.
You’ll start feeling butterflies, wedding jitters, and your heart beating with anticipation of taking the next stage of life.
But when you receive devastating and horrible news about your husband-to-be just the night before the long-awaited wedding day, you can feel crushed and wasted.
One Bride-to-be in Australia, Casey, received heartbreaking texts regarding her soon-to-be husband a few hours before they exchanged their vows. She received a series of screenshots from an unknown woman on her phone. She discovered her husband-to-be had been cheating on her for months and she didn’t even suspect him.
As Casey was preparing herself for the wedding day together with her friends, she received a text message saying, “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”
The message was accompanied with screenshots of her husband-to-be conversations with another woman, and selfies of them together. The texts dated months even before the planning of the wedding. But some of them were recent.
In one of the screenshotted texts, Alex wrote;
This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.
Your body is fucking incredible. And shit do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.
I miss you so much. I can’t stop thinking about L, S, F’ing you. I’ve never had this kind of connection before.
The former bride-to-be shared this story on Whimn. She told one of the reporters that every word she read from those screenshots felt like a “dagger in her heart” even though the wedding day was only a couple of hours away.
Crushed, she tried to figure out the reasons why he did such a thing to her. Casey close and loyal friends told her to call him and then cancel the wedding.
Casey told Whimn reporter, Danielle Colley, that there was no point of canceling the wedding since everybody had already traveled and everything had been paid for.
Instead of Casey calling off the wedding, she decided to take revenge on Alex, the husband-to-be. When the wedding day finally came, she chose to continue with the wedding but in an unusual way.
When it was time, she walked down the aisle as if nothing had happened. When Alex looked in her eyes, he knew something wasn’t right. But he had no clue of what was to befall him, and neither did everyone else in the crowd.
After approaching the altar, Casey announced that the wedding won’t happen. She told the audience that Alex isn’t the man she thought he was.
I walked down the aisle with leaden feet, my dream dress now just a costume. As he saw my face he knew this was not an ecstatic woman on her big day, but he had no idea what was coming. I arrived at the front of the room, took a big breath and I faced our friends, our parents and I told them the truth about Alex.
“It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”
A ripple of shock went through the crowd and Alex tried to grab my hands but I put down my flowers to reveal my phone in my hand. I read every single message she sent me. With each word, more colour left Alex’s face.
The brave-no-longer bride then stared at her ex-fiancé. Alex was speechless and embarrassed and stalked out of the church, leaving his family and friends shocked.
Casey turned to the wedding reception and said it’s unfortunate the wedding won’t happen. She added that although it’s horrible, she’s glad they’ve attended the event as they’ll witness the celebration of honesty, true love, and following your heart even if it hurts.
Despite Casey finding out her dream husband wasn’t what she thought he was and the wedding not happening, she told Whimn reporter that it was “one hell of a party.”
