Study Reveals Women Start Turning Into Their Mothers At Age 33

It's something most people find pretty much inevitable, but at what age do we start turning into our parents? Well, daughters apparently begin adopting the same attitudes and tastes as their mothers at the grand old (young) age of 33.

According to a recent study by a Harley Street surgeon in the UK, daughters are likely to start adopting their mothers' traits in the first few years after having their first child.

The average age of women giving birth in the UK is around 30.5. So after a few years, when they are around 33, they'll slowly morph into their mothers.

At this age, women generally stop rebelling against and start behaving more like their mothers. And they'll start picking up all those annoying habits they swore they will never do to their children.

They start embracing their mother's lifestyles, parenting styles, and perhaps even their mannerisms. They'll start using the same sayings, watching the same TV shows, and take up most of their mom's hobbies.

Just admit it. Maybe you've already used similar phrases with your own children, which you heard from your mom and swore you'd never use with your own kids.

For men, who're said to start turning into their fathers around the same age, signs may include adopting the same political views or taking a liking to the same music.

Dr. Julian De Silva, the surgeon who compiled the research, came up with the conclusion after surveying 2,000 men and women.

Participants were asked to answer a series of questions to determine when, exactly, they started to morph into their own parents.

According to the doctor, participants said they started to turn into their parents when they started to resemble them.

Dr. Julian De Silva said:

"We all turn into our parents at some point in our lives - and that is something to be celebrated. They are the most wonderful people in the world."

"Becoming parents is the main trigger, and lifestyle factors are also important. Both sexes said the physical signs of middle age were also a key factor."

"We start to feel like our mums and dads when we start looking like them, too. It is an inevitable part of aging, but a process lots of people want to put off for as long as possible.

We totally get that. Remember thinking that your mother could have used a bit more sense of style? Turns out, she had it right all along. You didn't know how comfortable sneakers and leggings were. The joke's on us!
